K.S.N. Venugopalu Senapathi says the investigation is conducted by the CB-CID, which is under the control of the Tamil Nadu government. Since the allegations themselves extend to Registration Department officials and possibly higher authorities, the probe by an agency under the control of the State does not inspire public confidence
